AE Chronics Story Pt3

I don't know how long we were running. I went to say something after he saved me from that thing & before I could get a word out he just grabbed my hand & we started to run full tilt. We ran for about 10 minutes by my count & then some blinking bright lights started to come into view. Turned out it was an abandoned & worn out grocery store & Colin was trying to get us to safety there. As soon as we were inside, he immediately bolted the doors shut & before I could completely catch my breath he just grabbed me into a tight embrace. I couldn't help it but to hug him back. I don't know how we were separated & for how long so all I wanted was to hold onto him for as long as I could before anything else happened to separate us again. After we broke the embrace he just looked down at me softly like he usually would & said, "Are you all right?" I looked up at him & replied, "I'm all right Colin but what're you doing here?! What was that thing?!" He let out a light sigh & helped me up onto my feet & gave a reply that sounded stern yet gentle, "I found my way up here. There's really no time to explain." What?! But I need answers now & you're the only one I can trust now! Feeling his hand on my back he continued his statement, "All I can say is that we have to get out of here." Once again I was interrupted by a large explosion that shattered the large store doors & from the smoke, dust & debris I couldn't see what caused it but I kept my grip on Colin's hand as he spoke up & sounded a bit upset, "Hurry. We should go now!" I didn't need to reply to give my answer to that.
